Welcome to the Historic Village of Georgetown
Welcome to the wonderful village life here in Georgetown! We hope you will find an interesting and helpful way to integrate yourself into the fabric of our multi-faceted village that best suits your interests! Our goal is to extend our welcome and make it easier for you to feel included and get involved.
Steeped in history and rich culture, there is much here to enrich your world. So we invite you to explore, participate, volunteer and celebrate the many assets and organizations that are the heart of our village. From its inception in 1751 as a tobacco port, Georgetown has attracted a wide variety of residents who work and live in this now world-renowned village.
Below are many of the Georgetown-centric groups that you are invited to learn about. Many groups are non-profit organizations comprised primarily of our neighbors.
We encourage you to review the list, go to the websites and sign up to take a tour, attend a cocktail party, volunteer your time and join in the spirit of village life!
We hope this helps you learn more about our city’s oldest community, make new friends, meet your neighbors and as Desmond Tutu says: “Do your little bit of good where you are.”
